Once the game commences, you have 20 seconds to read the question, select your response, and confirm that it's your final answer.

At any point during the game, you can get help from one of your Lifelines. You can use more than one Lifeline per question, but be careful: you only get to use each Lifeline once per game!

• the 50/50 Lifeline automatically removes two incorrect answers.
• the Phone-a-Friend Lifeline gives you actual advice from Doug Van Gundy, who won $250,000 during the show's August 1999 broadcast series.
• the Ask the Audience Lifeline lets you see the real results of how some ABC staffers answered the question.

After a correct answer, you can opt out at any time; you'll be credited with winning the amount of the last question you answered.

If you answer incorrectly, however, you only win the amount of the last milestone you passed. Milestones are the $1,000 and $32,000 levels.
